does barley help in weight loss? does barley or barley water help in weight loss? does barley or barley water help in weight lose? does it make you gain weight?

angel replied: "http://home.howstuffworks.com/natural-weight-loss-food-barley-ga.htm"

fitman replied: "Barley is not a "fat burner". However, it is a very healthy food. Rolled barley looks and tastes very much like oats and you can fix it just like oatmeal. Here is a list that includes other healthy foods:"

Can you help me with my weight loss plan? Ok, for the past 2 weeks i tried to lose weight 2 ways. Week 1: i barley ate anything and loss 5 pounds Week 2: I ate healthy and exercised daily and GAINED weight I want to stick with week 1, but it is bad for my body. Can you tell me a way to lose weight?

nessie. replied: "You gained weight the next week because since you were starving your body the first week, your body thought it wasn't going to get enough food, so everything you ate after, your body stored it as fat to save for later use. So you gained weight. If you started eating healthy from the start, you would have lost weight by now."

Trish Stratus is my hero replied: "the reason that you gained weight the second time around, was because of the way you tried to loose it the first time around"

Enterprise replied: "Run on the treadmill (or outside) everyday for an hour. Make sure to really work yourself though, and don't just go through the motions. Stay away from treats, junk food, pop and make sure not to over eat. Eat a light breakfast (like 1 piece of toast) maybe a light lunch (I sometimes skip it) and a nice sized dinner. If you get hungry during the day, eat some unsalted peanuts or fruit. Drink lots of water to help fill those food cravings and chewing gum helps a bit too. If you run for an hour a day and eat what I suggested above, you'll lose about 10 pounds in a month. That is, if you really stay true to it. You have to work hard, not eat those foods and not give yourself any exceptions. A trick I do not to eat too much when dinner comes around (if I'm really hungry around then) is to drink a glass of milk before eating. It'll help fill you so you don't eat as much as you normally would have. Lifting weights would help too in addition to the hour running everyday. Buy (or if you go to the gym, use) some free weights that you're comfortable with and lift them until it gets a bit hard for you to do so, then stop for the day. Go slow and once those are easy for you to lift, go to a heavier weight. I lost 20 pounds in 2 months doing this, so it really does work! You just have to discipline yourself. You have to really want to lose weight. Hope this helped, good luck!"

cvoneau replied: "You are not giving it a fair trial based on only a week of each. Basically forget about diet and exercise (they are soooo much less important than people make out) and focus on what happening on a mental and emotional level first. Whatever system you use if the mental and emotional factors are not considered first before the exercise and diet you are setting yourself up for frustration. Check out the link below they are offering a no cost 20 page report on just this topic."

Ketosis weight loss diet for vegetarians? I am trying to start a ketosis diet to lose weight but I am a vegetarian. What are some good foods that I could eat? I read egg whites and cheese are good and protein powder, but no nuts. My main protein income is usually nuts and beans. Are beans still ok? And it says to up the fat intake. I only get about 5% of the daily fat as it is and barley lose weight. Uping the fat doens't make sense.. How would that help me lose weight? I do not want to take meds or anything to induce ketosis.

valeria replied: "Beans are too high in carbs to throw you into ketosis (unless you're hardcore at working out). If you are really looking for the best weight loss diet, I suggest doing what this mom did, combining the Acai diet with a cleansing program for the best diet result Best Wishes,"

Jen replied: "You don't need a diet, you need a LIFESTYLE CHANGE: Eat less, move more. Eat four to six meals a day with breakfast being the largest and dinner the smallest. Eat the majority of your calories earlier in the day. Avoid sodas and junk foods."

Hannibal The Cannibal replied: "A ketogenic diet should only be done by bodybuilders before a show, and only if that bodybuilder knows that s/he benefits from a ketogenic diet. This is not a permanent dietary change for the bodybuilder, but rather something to do for no more than 8 weeks at a time, and only pre-contest as it usually inhibits gains in size, strength, and overall appearance (the muscles tend to look flat instead of full). Having said this, there is simply no reason you should be on a ketogenic diet. None. Even if you weren't a vegetarian I'd tell you the same thing. Eat properly and exercise. That's all it takes. Honest. Really. I lost about 100lbs in about 10 months and I did it consuming about DOUBLE the carbs as I did protein."

Can my doctor prescribe me weight loss pills? im almost 200lbs at 5'1, and i cant control my eating , i just eat and eat untill i feel sick, plus i barley ever have alot of engrey. is there a pill to help me be not hungrey and have more anergy and possibly help me lose weight along with diet and working out? thanks!

Ex-Boxer (Fitness Instructor) replied: "Hes he can but if your after weight loss pills i can recommend Acia from I used them to drop down in boxing weight but only use them when i need to do it in a short amount of time, but you need to remember that you will still need to diet and exercise to get the best and fastest results however here are some other ways you can lose weight Okay the best way to lose weight is to concentrate on 2 main things, this is your diet and your workout. ---Diet---- You need to get both of them right, now your diet should work like this... you should be eating a meal every 2-3 hours but not a junk food snack/meal. When i say meal i mean something which is healthy ie you might have some pasta with tuna, or a quick banana as a snack. The foods you eat should be COMPLEX carbs ie pasta, brown bread etc etc. You also want to try and get as much fruit + ved in a day. Make sure you have a good amount of protein throughout your meals. Now you also need to work out your Basal Metabolic Rate, this simply tells you how many calories you burn a day, you need to find out how much your actually eating now its most likely to be in excess if it is you want to TRY and cut down 500 calories and stick to your new total amount. This shouldnt be hard because you will be eating Complex carbs which are just as filling but have a lower calorie count but are better for you than empty calories which are found in simple carbs. ---Workout--- Here are some tips for you Okay now for your workout what you want to be doing is concentrating on many different types of cardio exercises. These are your jogging, swimming basically anything that makes you sweat and makes your heart pound. If you can join a gym as they have a lot of cardio machines there. Now once you get in to the hang of say jogging, what i mean by this is say you jog 20 mins everyday eventually you will come to a point where your not losing anymore weight this is like hitting a brick wall, this means you need to up the game, start jogging that extra five minutes a day, start taking that one less suagr in your cup of tea. The most important tip to remember is to vary your cardio routines. Your body gets used to the same cardio routines done over and over. By varying your routine, your body will have to adjust, and thus causes a rise in the metabolic rate, thereby burning calories faster. But how many people do you see walking everyday in your neighborhood, or on the same treadmill or elliptical machine at the gym, and their body never seems to be changing. They do all that work and see no visible results. That is because the conventional wisdom is to get some form of cardio 3-5 days a week at 30 - 60 minutes. A better alternative is high impact interval training. High impact training could include doing a warm-up of 3-4 minutes on a treadmill, followed by 1 minute at 8 mph, then 1 1/2 minutes at 4 mph, then run 10 mph for 1 minute, then walk at 4 mph for 1 1/2 minutes. You can repeat this 3 or 4 times to get a very effective, and not boring cardio workout. You can also incorporate running or walking stairs, or do short sprints. The sprints need not be long (20,30, 50 yards), and you rest by walking back to the starting point. These are very effective. Have you ever seen a fat person running the 100 yard dash at the Olympics? And often overlooked is the jump rope. Do short bursts of jump rope at a brisk pace with some faster paced, or double jumps, or criss crosses mixed in. By applying these cardio tips on how to burn calories fast, you should be able to jump start your metabolism, and make progress towards your fitness goals I can guarantee you that you will lose weight i have had to both GAIN and LOSE weight as i was an ex boxer I assure you that this will work, but the most important tip is motivation from YOU! Feel Free to add me on "IM" if you have any questions Best Of Luck"

Any good tips on weight loss around the stomach area? So im starting to get more of an hourglass figure. Barley though, Im still a bit chunky. Im 14 by the way. Im not too self conscious or whatever about my body, but i just wanna lose it. My friend suggested more sit ups, it sounded like a good idea but i wanna do more to get it all off.

Sarah replied: "6 Facts you must understand Don’t try to just find a quick and easy solution for your problem. You’re never going to find some wonder cure. You’re never going to transform your fat into muscle if you don’t stick exactly to the plan. Don’t try to be clever and make little changes to the program here and there. No matter what, you have to stick to your goals in written form and set a deadline for meeting those goals. If you don’t write down any goals, you don’t have any goals. Watch your attitude. Don’t fool yourself into believing you know everything. You don’t know anything until you’ve actually tried it out for yourself. Stop trying to justify your current physical condition with your genes or other outside conditions. If you can’t imagine how you’ll look with your new, rocked body, then you’ll never be able to realize your dream. You have to learn to take responsibility for yourself. If you’re not prepared to change yourself for the better, you’ll fail!"

Weight Loss Surgery-Need suggestions? I am considering having bypass surgery to loose weight. I have been fat all my life and I'm now 50 and weigh 300 lbs. Can anyone who has had this type of surgery please tell me about it. Did it work for you? Would you do it again? Did you have complications? How much weight did you lose? How did it affect you mentally? I just want to feel "normal" for once in my life. Thanks for sincere answers. 20 minutes ago - 3 days left to answer. Additional Details 8 minutes ago More info: I have spoken with my family doctor who has seen my struggle but I will be going to see a specialist in Atlanta on Sept. 20th and will decide after that. I am 5'6" 6 minutes ago Also I have tried to loose weight so many times. I joined a wellness center and worked out hard for 2 1/2 hours daily and the weight barley budged. I'm about as frustrated as a person can be. I just want to got other opinions before I make such a drastic decision. Thanks

ajlees2 replied: "look into the Lap Band surgery. It is less invasive then gastric bypass"

Melissa L replied: "hello i know a few people who have had the surgery. but here is input from the other side. two people i know have both done bypass. i don't think they were ready. a person i know is in a state of mind where she don't eat right because she thinks it might make her fat again and she looks so thin and sick. she has been so big for so long she will do what ever it takes not to get to what she was and it hurting her health. another friend of mine is young and she just got the bypass and now she acts different and at first she was doing every thing they told her to do but now its like she don't care. i don't know what it is to be big but you have to know what this means to you if you get the bypass done its a way to be healthy not a size 0 and you will change but change for the better. it's all about being ready in your mind. cause your body will lose weight fast."

Holly S replied: "It's probably your genes that made you over weight. Now don't be so concered! Only if it is a health risk you should take action. Now I'm sure the surgen will make sure it's painless, but it will be expensive. Make sure you put in these factors before you say I'm ready. Also how will you feel after. Will you regret it? Maybe your just big boned and there is nothing you can do. Foucus on your heart not your body more, and maybe you will deside you acually like your self for who you are today."

ncblkgy replied: "I feel your pain. I have gone through what you are currently going through. Obesity runs in my family its a gene that I picked up and no matter how much I diet and exercises it just does not get any better. Many people that will answer these questions can not answer because they do not know what you are going through. How many times have you heard "just stick to diet and exercises and you will be ok"? I have not had my surgery yet My insurance denied my coverage so I have opted to have mine overseas in India because it is 1/3rd of the price here. I can answer your questions based off of my sisters experience who had her gastric bypass in India a year and a half ago. Did it work for you? Yes it worked very well. Would you do it again? In a heart beat Did you have complications? the only "complication" she had was she did loose interest in some of her favorite foods. What you have to understand is during this process your taste buds will change dramatically. So you will loose interest in certain foods as well. How much weight did you lose? She lost a total of 125 pounds and looks absolutely great! How did it affect you mentally? It gave her a huge confidence boost. She feels more secure when going shopping or just out doing everyday activities. Not worried about people "watching" her or whatever. You have to be prepared for a life style change you will eat small meals for the rest of your life, you will have to take vitamins and suppliments for the rest of your life. I really hope your insurance covers this surgery. In the off chance that they do not. You should talk with the people that scheduled me for my surgery in India. They are the best at what they do and helpped me with financing and everything and I had horrible credit."

cinnamongirl replied: "How tall are you??? The way to lose weight, permanently, is by burning more calories than you take in, on a daily basis. You cannot lose weight without excersise."

pooknana_pooknana replied: "first off you should not even try to lose weight because you are not fat and if you think your are just ask people and i am 14 too and were im from no one like skinny girls they like thick gurls...but i lose five pounds n a week just bye eatin two boiled eggs and 2 pieces of bacon and fruit at like 8or 9 and water then at 11 or 12 eat a salad and fruit and water then later around 3 i ate fruit and drunk alot of water then a six i ate a salad water and fruit then thas all i didnt eat after 7"

Kim replied: "I have been reading up on the acai berry myself. The acai berry's natural combination of antioxidants, essential fatty acids, phytosterols, and amino acids work together to assit your body and make it function better. Your body will process food more easily and burn fat more efficiently. The acai berry has around twenty times the antioxidants of red grapes. It is a wonderful protein, and has a large amount of dietary fiber. The fats contained in the acai berry are healthy omega fats. The acai berry is loaded with amino acids, which muscles need to function properly and benefit from exercise. These amino acids combined with fatty acids allow the body to burn fat more effectively and help tone your muscles. I have found the following informational site very informative -."

Jenny replied: "I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes. Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight. First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising... This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart. However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at .com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Now this doesn't mean you have to follow my foot steps but I've successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day. Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate."

Weight loss? Diet pills that are safe? what about those powders you add to water to curb hunger? tips? I need to lose weight. I'm not lazy, I walk a lot, bike and swim in the summer. it's just that I never have any real time. I'm a full time student and I work constantly and when i'm not doing that I'm working on homework or having that rare weekend of having time for friends. It's ridiclious I don't eat a lot, I don't sit around and eat junk 24/7 but it's like I eat a single M&M and I gain 5 lbs. I am sick and tired of hating myself and my body, all I want is massive weight loss. I feel huge. I'm a girl I'm nearly 5"8' and I weigh (ugh....) 145-150. I just hate myself. I want to lose like 20-40lbs, I know it's going to take a while. I've tried everything. Every time I try to eat really healthy (lots of fruits and veggies) my family gets on my case, they get nasty saying all this mean stuff about how i'm being neurotic and stupid and vain, then they drive off to McDonalds. I know there is more important things then your weight, I'm not stupid. I know, I know, but it's just for once in my life I want to be thin. I used to be a 5. All my friends are like size zeros, they are always telling me that I would be pretty if i lost like 30 lbs. Next to them I feel huge, and guys barley notice me because im FAT. Listen, don't judge me. you dont know me. I'm looking for those supplements you can add to bottled water that curb appetite. Also is there a diet pill (im old enough to buy them) that I can take that will actually work? I'm afraid that if i take this stuff, after I stop my body will go into withdrawal and gain it all back or more. also I don't want any stupid order-it-online BS. Im talking about stuff you could find and a normal drug store. I hate my curves!

Apathy replied: "diet pills and whatever fad ultimately hurts your body. This will make you hate yourself more since you can gain weight so fast and lose fat so slow. If you're family drives you to mcdonalds order a fresh salad without the fatty dressings. take advantage. also drink more water. heres the general formula: Find calorie tracking calculator - like this one [ ] That's how many calories you need. Ignore the extreme fat loss limit. Next is exercise. Use this link below [] Ok, so you now got calories in check, check how many you need to lose weight. But do not go crazy on candy bars and whatnot. You should know what are good foods and which are bad. Good = Anything natural like meats, oils, fruits, vegetables, and dairy Bad = Anything that is manmade like cookies, cakes, anything in packaging, BUT you can still enjoy them on OCCASION. Here's the site to track how much each food's calories are [ ] Finally make sure to eat enough calories. Say I need 2000 calories to lose weight, and I ate 2500 calories. But I burned 500 through exercise, so 2500 - 500(burned) = 2000. So I'm fine. It won't be loss in one day since you didn't gain the weight in one day. Stick with this and I promise you you will see results steadily. Good Luck"

Bethie Boo replied: "Oh my GOSH - You're 5'8" and you're 145-150? I'm 5'5" and I weigh 155. You need to learn how to love yourself. You want to lose 20-40 pounds!? I don't understand. I love my curves! I'm definitely not heavy or overweight at all, so I can't understand how you can feel so fat at that weight / height. It sounds to me that you need to examine why you feel this way - not how to lose weight. If you live a healthy lifestyle, then why do you care about losing so much? You're at a healthy BMI right now! That's what's important. Now you just have to get a healthy outlook on your body, and who you are. First thing's first - stop telling yourself you're fat!"

Master C replied: "Many diet pills are also associated with symptoms such as headaches, jitters, dry mouth, fever, excessive sweating, nauseousness, blurred vision, dizziness, hair loss and death. Is the magic pill really worth it?"

chillyoung replied: "There are more than many factors responsible for running to fat.The best way to get into trim is to eat yoga diet and to do yoga exercise."
