Lemon Hair Loss Information in Questions
is lemon juice good for hair loss and regrowth? i heard it dries and lightens hair..is dat true ? shud i use it or not?....i hav uncontrollable hair loss....plz help....

Janine M replied: "Nope its BAD for hair. Since lemon juice is basically acidic, it dries out your hair, which leads to breakage. SO if you're trying to use it as a solution to hair loss, it'll do the opposite and make it worse."

Zion replied: "I wouldn't recommend lemon juice for hair loss/regrowth, hair tonic would be better."

How to control my hair loss. Its falling always. I also have mild dandruff.? I use lemon weekly and then shampoo. I apply medium amount of oil on the scalp once or twice a week.

patty10012 replied: "ohh no not good u thnk u have cancer go to the doctor and c and if u don't try going to CVS it's good trust me i know it's a pharmacy but it sells good products for hair!!!!"

christian g replied: "depends on your age and diet and stress levels"

camsweets1718 replied: "well i don't exactly know what to tell you here, but i do know my hair falls out pretty bad too. i can run my fingers through my hair and it comes out like its nothing. i'd advise going and getting some vitamins from a health store. they do work wonders. as for the dandruff i always used head and shoulders shampoo and it worked fine for me. sorry if that didn't help much."

jh replied: "Visit a doctor! A dermatologist or a pathologist!"

Monica Thomson replied: "The majority of hair loss prevention products on the market do very little to regrow hair. At best, they slow down the process of androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness), and in many cases they don't even do that. Fortunately, there's an all-natural method for you to prevent further hair loss and to regrow hair--it's called Provillus. Provillus, an oral supplement, works to block DHT, a form of testosterone that is responsible for 95 percent of hair loss. It also works to stimulate the scalp and bring dead follicles back to life. You can use Provillus as a preventative tool, starting the program before hair loss becomes severe, or you can use it after DHT has already begun to take hold of your hair and scalp."

samantha jacqlynlsy replied: "i think u shld stop using lemon n oil.d appearance of scalp mainly coz by the non cleanliness of ur hair n even worse u didnt allowed ur hair to "breath" n stucked by the oil that u applied on.lemon is too acidic to directly apply on hair, avoid it.... Try to blend the aloe vera fresh n directly apply on ur hair,it is very mild n soothing, even can make ur hair looks shiny n smooth..........Try it,u'll c the difference..........Ya,shampoo that contain peppermint works best for scalp.........can prevent itchiness n deep cleansing ur hair"

kt replied: "first I'd go the doctors to make sure there are no underlying causes. But if not I'd just recommend de-stressing, try to take it easy for a bit or how about getting an Indian head massage? there excellent for de-stressing and good for your scalp and hair. There not to expensive and different kind of oils can be used to treat different problems I also used to suffer with dandruff but found out it was a result of a dairy intolerance, once i stopped the dairy it almost went completely, to get rid of it totally i tried alsorts t-gel head and shoulders etc and found them all pretty useless and damaged my hair then i found a shop called Lush which does all organic shampoo bars which are amazing i've been flake free for over 6th month now and my hairs so shiney so would defo recomend them they have a website too if you just google them. good luck :)"

Priyanka C replied: "mix mustard oil with castor oil and cocunut oil heat this up and message on ur hair and scalp leave it on overnight. this will help with dandruff next morning use alma powder mix with egg leave it on for 30 min-1 hr. wash off with a herbal shampoo"

hair loss after pregnancy? I just had my 2nd son in May, and my hair is really falling out. People has said to use Nioxin, but I would like to try home rememdies first before using anything else. I have seen on some websites about using eggs, vinegar, onion , lemon juice, and etc. for mixtures. Has anyone tried home remedies for hairloss? What rememdies work the best???

S R replied: "For hair loss you can try this remedy. Mix 1 egg, 2.5 tablespoons milk powder and 1 tablespoon wheat germ oil. Massage on the scalp and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash with a mild shampoo. Check out for more info."

Onion juice for hair loss? CHEMISTRY ANTIDOTE? Please help me with getting rid of odor from scalp and hair! Never put onion juice on scalp!? I did something stupid: I put onion juice on my hair b/c I heard it will make my hair strong. BIG mistake. I already tried these remedies which didn't work.. 1 scented shampoos 2. parsley paste 3. chamomile tea, black tea, 4. tomato paste 5. baking soda (smelled awful and made my hair feel weird but it didn't help) ~maybe baking powder would be different??? 6. lemon juice (seemed to dry my hair and smell came right back and soon as I washed it out) 7. mouthwash with peroxide (yeah, i was desperate) 8. cinammon powder 9. cayenne powder (it made my scalp hot though!) 10. coffee and coffee grinds 11. apple cider vinegars soaks PLEASE HELP. Please answer if you know about conteracting the chemistry of onion odor on the scalp and hair! PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY IT WILL WORK. I DON'T WANT TO DAMAGE MY HAIR MORE OR CAUSE MYSELF MORE PROBLEM THANKS

messenger 2012 replied: "Vinegar takes most odors out of everything. Try distilled or white."

Happy Camper replied: "Talk to a dermatologist."

Monkey Lips replied: "White Vinegar, Tomato Sauce or Lemon Juice are all excellent and natural neutralizers. These are non-damaging to your hair or scalp and are used to neutralize odors such as garlic and even when sprayed by a skunk. My sister was sprayed by a skunk and we bathed her in tomato juice - it was the only thing that worked! If you want to grow hair then I suggest you try this product that I have been buying that works very well for me - be prepared that hair growth takes six or more months before it is noticeable. Shen Min sells an array of products - save your money - all you need is the topical. The active ingredient? Saw Palmetto. Why it works, I don't know - but it won't leave an odor and it works."

ramonesfan05 replied: "1 quart 3 percent hydrogen peroxide 1/4 cup baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) 1 teaspoon liquid soap or dish detergent Mix these together and bathe ("shampoo" in or rub down). Be sure to use this mixture immediately after it is created, as it is unstable. Rinse with tap water afterward, and repeat if necessary."

Andrew replied: "Wow Dude... I'm kinda really bald and I blamed it on too many U-turns under the sheets. Genetics dude...plus your stressing over it is gonna make it happen more quickly....just go bald gracefully like everyone else....However your remedys have made me quite hungry... No more mullets for you...just get a really short haircut and enjoy! Bald guys are way more attractive than the onion, vinegar, peppery coffee scented ones!"

chris r replied: "I know for a fact that tomato juice works to get rid of skunk smell. It might neutralize the onion because it is acidic. The only time I wouldn't use the tomato juice is if you have extremely light blonde hair that is very porous or damaged. If not, put the tomato juice on you hair and leave on about an hour. After rinsing it out, use a dandruff shampoo, preferably one with salicylic acid in it. You may need to go to a salon to get that. KeraCare sells a shampoo and conditioner with salicylic acid in it. The smell should be gone because the tomato juice is acidic and the salicyclic acid gets buildup off your hair and also neutralizes odors caused from dandruff. The KeraCare shampoo and conditioner also have menthol in them. They moisturize, detangle, and make your hair smell minty fresh! Kinda like breath mints for your hair! Note: I just noticed that you used tomato paste in your hair. I'm wondering if maybe you didn't leave it in long enough. What you want to do is wet your hair down with warm water to open the cuticle then put the tomato juice all over it. Cover it with a plastic cap for an hour and then shampoo with the KeraCare shampoo. The shampoo says to shampoo, rinse, then shampoo again and leave on for five minutes. After you rinse it out the last time, you put the conditioner on it for 20 minutes and then rinse it out. I know it seems like a long process, but this will definitely give you sweet-smelling hair and will even make your hair feel soft!"

sarah81783 replied: "well when i chop onions i usually rub my hands on a stainless steel bar and then wash hands with soap it takes the smell out. except i don't know how you would do that to your hair. let's see.. What if you try lemon juice with a bit of olive oil. I hear olive oil is good for the scalp. Salt also helps in lessening the smell. try putting table salt with your shampoo."

Sunflower replied: "After the above and below items are used. Have someone else besides yourself smell your hair. I believe something might have worked but because you are stressing, you may believe you are smelling onions when you are not. Best of luck."

Hair Loss Problem Someone PLEASE help?!?!? A month ago I got a bad haircut so since it was summer i thought i'd try and lighten it "naturally." I used hydrogen peroxide which made my hair fall out so I quickly washed it out which made it stop falling out. I also used things like lemon juice and vinegar. About a week ago I noticed that lemon juice was kind of making my hair fall out so I washed it out and my hair was good. So about 4 days ago i was putting lemon juice in my hair and I noticed my hair falling out. I washed it out. The next day my hair was still coming out and it still is today. I don't know whats going on or how to make it stop. I can even pull out my eyebrow hairs too easily. Please someone help. Also i stopped using everything and ive been lightly shampooing it and using warm olive oil.

M.D. Alison C replied: "year ago I suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss. the things that really worked for me was: 1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp; 2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation; 3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage; 4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three); 5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed and Provilluss (do not use Rogaine - it will not work!) Those are a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important! It worked and still works for me! I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here (TrichoZed™ will produce noticeable hair growth in 30 to 45 days. My Hair loss problem? Alright so here's my story. A month ago I got a bad haircut so I thought I would highlight it naturally with peroxide. That made some of my hair fall out and I quikly washed it out. Throughout the month I used lemon juice and vinegar to lighten it. 2days ago I was putting lemon juice and my hair started falling out. It hasn't stopped since then. I also noticed my some strands of my moms hair and the past couple days I've been using her conditioner. Disregarding all the stupid things I did to my hair can someone help me figure this out?

Sincere Advice replied: "The faster way to really change the health of your hair is by taking supplements that work internally on the follicle where hair is made; that can only happen with systemically provided support, which means supplements that you take internally.. Keep in mind, regardless of how many or how much you take of any supplement, hair is never going to grow at a "Jack and the beanstalk" type of rate, the most you can hope for is to improve the strength and health of each hair follicle and to see an incremental increase in the rate of its growth Suggest you to use a herbal supplementation formulated from the best known herbs for healthy hair growth from roots. The rare herbs and active ingredients that help so are Fo-Ti, Stinging Nettle, Kelp, SawPalmetto, Silica, Rosemary, Inositol, Biotin and Horsetail. Recommend to you the following for a minimum period of 6 weeks for visible results leading to reversal of the premature greying of your hair : i) Segals Advanced Scalp Formula: For cleaning the scalp and revitalizing the root of the hair for new hair growth. It makes the root free of all sebum, grime, flakes and dirt thereby strengthening the root and thus encouraging hair to grow. The blood circulation in the root is considerably enhanced, laying the foundation for healthy hair growth. To be applied on the scalp every night before bed. Not sticky. Will get absorbed in the scalp on its own. ii) Segals Advanced Hair Supplement: For stimulating hair-cell metabolism and strengthening the connective tissue. Active ingredients in the Supplement have a nutritional ability to not only grow back lost hair but also restore damaged/dry/weak hair to its natural colour and strength. Contains rare herbs like Fo-Ti, Saw-Palmetto, Kelp, Stinging Nettle, Inositol, Biotin, Horsetail and Silica, apart from other active botanical extracts, which are proven to show healthy hair growth from the roots. Alongwith the Formulation and Hair Supplement suggested above, you need to you use Segals Advanced Dandruff Shampoo/Conditioner to arrest your problem. Please don't use any commercial shampoos available in the market that are Surfactant based & contain Sodium Lauryl Sulphate / Cocamide / Propylene Glycol / Sodium Chloride / Artificial Colouring or Pearlizing Agents. Forget Clinic Plus...It is just another commercial shampoo with no known active ingredients....just advertising.. Apart from the precautions listed above, please follow the following in general: 1. Drink plenty of water, 2. Avoid stressful situations; do yoga/meditation to reduce stress, 3.Have a balanced diet containing lot of fresh fruits and leafy vegetables, 4.Do not blow dry too close to the scalp, 5.Do not brush wet hair; instead use a wide-tooth comb Honestly, No comparable product available in India with the above ingredients & such stupendous results. Visit the source site below to see what the ingredients are and how each ingredient works to promote healthy and strong hair .....from the roots."

Natural home remedy to style men hair? i've heard lemon is good for styling hair. not sure about that. any other ideas that does not damage hair or cause hair loss? thanks is there a natural way to style hair. a mixture that could be made with natural ingrediants. i refuse to use gel as it damages your hair and causes hair loss with all those chemicals. something to give it shine, make it look alive ;)

Nashvegas replied: "Lemons are used for lightening your hair and will dry your hair out. Don't use lemons on your hair unless you want to lighten it. There are dozens of articles about this if you google how to get shiny hair naturally. Good Luck! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You can get hair shiny naturally without chemicals by sealing the cuticles of each hair strand so it reflects light. This eHow article shows how to get hair shiny with two simple inexpensive ingredients plus distilled water. Purchase your materials. To get hair shiny with this method, you’ll need distilled water, apple cider vinegar and pure jojoba oil. The oil is sold in health food stores, the vinegar and water are also sold in grocery stores. Seal with "wax" to get hair shiny. Before bed, put a few drops of jojoba oil into your clean palms, then spread it throughout your hair from scalp to the ends. Jojoba is actually more of a “liquid wax” rather than a true oil that helps get hair shiny. It sinks in quickly to seal the cuticles and won’t leave an oily mess in your bed. Just use very little, less on shorter hair, more on long. Mix a cuticle sealing hair rinse to get hair shiny. Blend three and three quarters cups of distilled water with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a clean plastic one quart or more container. Use the rinse after shampoo. Each time you shampoo and condition your hair, finish by rinsing with your homemade rinse and leaving it on. Don’t worry, the odor will go away when hair is dry. This helps get hair shiny by ridding the hair of excess mineral build-up and further sealing the hair shaft cuticles."

I'm going bald. will dormant hair follicles awake or will my hair never grow again? I'm a male, 33 years old. Has had severe hair loss over the last few months. I think it was stress and anxiety. I've been massaging my scalp with olive oil and lemon 3 times a week. Will my hair regrow?

conranger1 replied: "Might as well add salt and pepper, sorry but bald is bald there is no cure."

bouncin.onacloud replied: "If it is just stress making your hair fall out, then it will grow back, but only after you've got your stress levels down. Olive oil and lemon won't help. There's nothing you can massage your scalp with that will help. You could try supplements, a good multivitamin, iron (ferrous sulphate or ferrous furmarate), ginseng, gingko bilboa and omega 3 will all help to a certain extent. They won't help your hair directly for the most part, but they'll help get your body in balance. You may also want to take a look at your diet and lifestyle. I know why my hair falls out, I have a bad diet, a stressful lifestyle, I don't take my supplements and I bleach my hair. However, I may be on the wrong tack altogether. It's entirely possible you are suffering with male pattern baldness, which is incurable I'm afraid. Did your father or any of his male relatives suffer? But if you do have male pattern baldness, it's not all doom and gloom! It is proven that men who suffer from male pattern baldness have more of the male sex hormone testosterone and are therefore more manly!"

Mr Tintin replied: "It could grow back. Probably won't though. I am 27 and I am starting to loose my hair. So I feel for you. I was going to get it replaced but I am just accepting it now. If you pay money for the various hair companies to re-grow it you will only be making them rich and what will happen the day you can't afford the treatment? Besides most woman don't care about hair loss it's your personality that counts!"

Cica replied: "SAW PALMETTO (Serenoa repens), Licorice (glycyrrhiza glabra) and Rosemary. DHT (dihydrotestosterone) kills off the hair folicles and Saw palmetto blocks the formation of DHT and helps prevent hair loss. (It also helps prevent prostate enlargement) OR Add Licorice to your favorite shampoo when you shower. NOT the candy... lol.... or Soak the rosemary in Extra virgin olive oil overnight then massage it into your scalp. You can also drink the relaxing tea!! It's delicious! lol You can get any of these items at any health food store like GNC"

ali replied: "Don't waste your time with these so called natural remedies they wont do anybody any favours sounds like you are suffering from male pattern baldness which is often caused by the build up of Dihydrotestosterone. Fact Dihydrotestosterone is a combination of testosterone and androgen receptors mixed with sebum which accumulates on the scalp. DHT has a disastrous effect on the hair follicle so it begins to shut down and the hair eventually falls out. I suggest you visit a hair loss clinic or a dermatologists. I am sure you will be able to restore a full head of hair by seeing one of these professionals."

I wanted to loss weight faster. So I did my best to loss weight. and I lost weight and hair! But why hair?? I didn’t want a surgery or I didn’t want to have pills to loss weight. Still don’t want those. So, I decided to have balanced diet and exercises. I started to have vegetables, all kinds of fruits, fish for protein, 2 breads for a day, plenty of water, pickle & lemon juice without sugar. I didn’t have chance to go to gym or doing outdoor exercises, so I rather started working out at home like doing free hand exercises for like half an hour and using running machine for like 40 minutes a day. It was really working and I lost like 7 kgs within a month. But the problem is, I lost plenty of my Hair with Weight! I could realize that I am losing hair coz I completely stopped eating Rice. I used to eat rice @ launch time and ate bread @ dinner time. When I was dieting, I used to eat 2 breads for a day @ breakfast time. For the deficiency of carbohydrate I lost too much hair. Then when I though of start eating carbohydrate again (not too much, balanced) I realized that Avoiding Carbohydrate is the fastest way to loss weight and it was the main reason I was loosing weight and if I start eating the Rice and Bread and all the carbohydrate contaminated foods again, I’ll gain the weight again that I lost, or if I start doing exercise more (though I don’t get that much time), I’ll not loss weight as fast as I was loosing weight before. So, as you can see, the whole planning was working out, but I had to stop doing all those because of the falling of my hair. SO, can you please tell me a way to loss weight faster without loosing hair?? {I was happy by the way I was loosing my weight (except the hair falling part). If you suggest me something similar to my way of loosing weight, it would be pretty much helpful for me. Please don’t suggest me to go to gym/outdoor exercise or having pills/surgery}

xchasingsummerx replied: "You probably just arent getting all the nutrients you need. Start taking a good timed release multivitamin like Women's Ultra Mega Active from GNC."

Michelle replied: "First of all congratulations on losing weight. I think you need to go to your doctor and find out if you're lacking in a nutrient like iron that might be causing the hair loss. Nutritional deficiencies can cause hair loss. Stress can cause hair loss. Hormonal changes can cause it too. When you lose weight you do affect your hormones. Even having something like ring worm in your scalp can cause it. I tried to find the webmd site that I got this info from last year but I can't find it. I had 3 surgeries in like a 3 month period last year and didn't eat well during the course of all of that. Plus the anesthesia can cause hair loss too. Anyway, I looked all of that stuff up then and that's where I got the info. I took vitamins for a few months and started eating better and stopped. You should really consult a doctor because if they find the cause they can stop it. Good luck."

Amberlina replied: "Congrats on the weight loss. But I think the hair loss has nothing to do with cutting out rice. Start taking vitamins. You can also find pills at the drugstore that help hair and nail growth. They take a couple of months to kick in but they work."

Lina L replied: "You should always focus on a strong diet/workout plan that will suit your weight loss goals and the time you need to do it. I have tried all sorts of methods to lose weight and here are the three things to concentrate on. Exercising is one of the main things you should. Some people claim to not have time but you should at least get some cardio in and get the heart racing. Then the diet is the next thing you need to consider. I'm on a strict calorie diet which brings us to the next thing. Diet pills I have tried all sorts of them and the only ones that work are the natural ones that contain herbs. The right one will give you plenty of energy along with amazing weight loss support. I'm on Proactol which is a natural appetite suppressant along with being a fat blocker. It really stops the food cravings along with blocking up to 28% of the fat you eat. It's really incredible if your wanting to lose a lot of weight and maintain the weight you want. Read up about Proactol at Theweightlossplace.com where I saved $30 on Proactol and got a lot of info there. Good luck and I hope this helps."

Jeff replied: "I found this on this website. No matter how you slice it, diet is a dirty word. It smacks of deprivation and hunger pangs. To overcome the pain, you need a plan. So WebMD asked the experts for advice, and put together their quick tips on how to get your weight lossgoing. 1. Know Your Weight Loss Goals 2. Understand Your Weight Loss Personality 3. Double Up: Diet & Exercise 4. Make a Firm Weight Loss Commitment Finally, be sure you're committed to losing weight for yourself -- not because someone else is pressuring you to do so. Then, take things slowly, keep these tips in mind, and you should be on the road to weight loss in no time. Go to:--?cq=1"
