Can i use neutrogena acne treatment kit and neutrogena rapid clear together? I just recently bought the Acne treatment kit by neutrogena. I also bought neutrogena 8 hour rapid clear pads. would it be bad for my skin if i use them both? i have a horrible breakout and i think i need it.

There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it's at. Alesha replied: "I find that "Noxzema" works very well for acne... Usually I get the cleanser that is a lotion with micro-beads... The beads exfoliate your skin leaving it softer, and the lotion containing the beads cleanses your face from dirt and oil. Alternatively, "St. Ives Apricot Scrub" for oily skin or even for all skin types is a good cleanser. It works the same as Noxzema, except it does not smell as nasty. It smells a bit frutier, and the lotion is much more gritty! I make sure to wash my face by splashing my face with warm water, as this opens up your pores (heat opens up your pores, allowing sweat). While your pores have been opened, exfoliate with the cleansers... Then rinse off the cleanser with COLD water, as cold water closes the pores up again. That is just a trick I learned... And so far it's worked great. I rarely have breakouts. :)"

However, I think clean and clear is stronger so I'd try Neutorogena first and then go to clean and clear if it doesn't work. If over the counter aids don't help, go see a dermatologist."

sheylizabeth replied: "if you look at the ingredients on the back, both neutrogena and clean n clear , have Salicylic Acid 2%, correct? so it's the same. either one, however, you might want to try something else like, Mentholatum Oxy wash, i use it. it's benzoyl peroxide instead of SA. they have 2 versions, one is BP 5%, and the other is BP 10%. I alternate between clean n clear salicylic acid 2% and Oxy 5% :) and moisturize with a thin layer of cetaphil and my skin is smooth now."

oblivious replied: "It does work but it takes a long time. Then someone suggested I use clean and clear and thats a fast product if you want to get rid of your ance instead of weeks. It took couple of days when I used clean and clear gel. It costs something like $6 at walgreens. Its better to put it on at night so it can take sometime for your skin to dry so it can remove all the red ance on your skin. It took me a while to figure out how to use it properly cause my skin was really red in some areas which I hated it."

Izzy replied: "I have pretty severe acne and tried much of the neutrogena line. I tried their on the spot acne treatment, but I think I just had too many spots for it to handle. It did seem to help the larger ones dry out and fade quicker than untreated ones, but it did nothing for the little bumps and barely reduced the overall amount of acne I had. I have tried almost all over the counter treatments and many prescriptions and none have worked, so maybe I just have really bad luck, but for me personally I didn't see results. Good luck!"
