loving-mum replied: "I really wouldn't without speaking to your doctor first....I know how awful migraines can be, I suffer myself, but it will pass, your baby is far more important. Try a cool flannel over you forehead and eyes and keep the room dark. hope you feel better soon"

Cindy; mum to 3 monkeys! replied: "The easiest way to get a professional answer is to ring your local chemist/pharmacy and ask the pharmacist. They will tell you correctly what you can or can't do with it Personally, reading the info, I would not take it unless directed by my doctor"

Momof1 replied: "If you can't reach your doctor quickly call 1st Nurse or whatever you have in your area like that."

Erika (Nina and Brady's Mom) replied: "yes its okay, my doctor gave me the go ahead for the caffeine tylenol and if that doesn't work you can even take tylenol 1's safely. Tylenol 1's have a low dose of codeine but still safe, they are behind the counter at the pharmacist."

christy s replied: "You should call your doctor or nurse on call. If not available call the local pharmacy and speak with the pharmacist. I think it would be ok I took something like it when I was pregnant as well I suffered with horrible Migraines when I was pregnant. I still have them 13 yrs later.. Good luck and congrats on the baby."

Harry D replied: "No medication is adequately tested on pregnant women. Even medication that is intended specifically for pregnant women. Pregnant women just don't volunteer for clinical trials, and in any case are usually automatically excluded from them. So by the safety standards that are applied to all medications by the FDA, NO medication is safe for pregnant women. That sounds crazy, and it is. The truth is, you gotta get advice from your generalist. They're the ones who usually know what is safe and effective for pregnant women."

Melodie's Momma!! replied: "As it says... contact a doctor before use... my doctor told me only regular Tylenol ..."

love v replied: "You can take extra strength.... my Dr okayed it. He even okayed tylenol pm extra strength."

Princess Ninja replied: "It's probably okay, both Tylenol and caffeine are okay to take during pregnancy. However, if you're in your first trimester, you should avoid taking anything at all. Your baby is growing organs and developing structure during that time, and you don't want to chance anything. I took an antibiotic during my fifth week when palate formation happens, and my child was born with a cleft lip and palate. It may or may not have had anything to do with it, but I won't ever take that chance again. Avoid everything during your first trimester if you can unless specifically instructed by your doctor to do so. Please ask your doctor first. If I were you, and I was in 2nd trimester or later, I'd just have a regular tylenol with a cup of coffee. It's the same effect."

What would happen if someone swollowed 4 tylenols? Not that I'd do it, but a lot of my friends would. They say they'd do it to get high, but I don't know if it'll make them high or if it would kill them (or at least make them really sick). And I just want to know if they'd be okay if they done this, so I can tell them what exactly will happen if they did. And, I don't mean one kind of tylenol, I mean 2 Ultra, and 2 500....I don't know what the difference between them is.

Legend replied: "youre friends are not that bright.. tylenol is very powerful and your friends could get liver failures if they continue."

carbinated milk replied: "4 tylenols wont make you high or die (at least not right away) my doctor prescribed me to take 3-4 tylenols or any other head medicen for my cronic migranes. Really the only bad thing it could do is ruin your liver and could also cause an olser (if they were to do this alot) If its other pills they start poping then you need to be worried. Watch out for excedirine ,and perscription drugs. Or also watch out if they start takeing more than 4 at a time. Best wishes to you and your friends"

Jimbobarino replied: "Don't even think about it. Tylenol is an excellent painkiller- good for hangovers but it's not availiable in Britain as our government deems it too dangerous for us Brits!"

slippiefist replied: "tylenol will not get you high. i take 6-8 anytime i get a headache. too many at once can cause indigestion, and over time all drugs cause liver damage, but tylenol will never make you high, unless you mean tylenol 3 with codeine."

weary0918 replied: "The short-term effect would be minimal. As you said, he might feel a bit nauseous. However, the long-term effect of overdosing on acetaminophen can be liver failure."

Orinoco_W replied: "4 tylenols are not enough to cause injury to a healthy adult sized human. However, I have seen one patient who had underlying liver disease who went bright yellow, got liver pains and had to come to hospital from it - but their liver was pretty precarious to begin with. As far as I know, 4 tylenols does not make you high. Tylenol generally doesn't make you high, but is sometimes sold at raves to unsuspecting people who take a blank tablet thinking it's ecstacy and then go all huggy and get a "high" from it purely by placebo effect. It wouldn't harm them unless they repeatedly took doses. If you have enough paracetamol (acetaminophen) it will injure your liver and more than enough can kill you."

Snaredrum replied: "That's like 4 Tylenol with a fat dose of caffeine. It causes a bit of a cheap buzz becuase of the 65mg of caffeine in the Ultra. The combination of the caffeine and excessive Acetaminophen causes a bit of a buzz. It's pretty stupid because of the effects on the liver and blood vessels (and not something that should be done often, if at all). Try to discourage them from taking them all at one time, space them out. Maybe even just one of each. Be satisfied they're not killing themselves, just potentially harming. 1 tylenol = 500 mg Acetaminophen, and 2 is regular dose. 1 Ultra tylenol (for extreme pain and arthritis) = 500 mg Acetaminophen + 65mg caffeine (2 for dose). So they're taking 2000mg ace. and 130mg caffeine (about 100mg in a cup of coffee)... not real smart. Acetaminophen expands blood vessels + caffeine= stupid (multilpy stupid if alcohol is involved) Be happy it's tylenol for a cheap buzz and not crack or something (MY friends.. *sigh*). Keep an eye on them though , because escalation is always imminent. You're a great friend. But it's hard to control those you love sometimes. Watch the labels for dosage over period of time, and how regularly they're doing it. If they need a caffeine buzz that bad, buy them an espresso! Maybe even go as far as to threaten to not hang out with them if they continue the Tylenol thing. Remind them that it's no big deal to take Tylenol and drink coffee... their parents do it every day! (oooh they'll like that!) Go Googling for 'excessive effects tylenol' if you want to scare them! Basically, they're getting a little tipsy, it's nowhere close to lethal dosage. But the potential is there for liver damage down the line..."

quagi m replied: "The one pain reliever that you DO NOT want to take an overdose on is Tylenol, or any of it's generic version. Tylenol is very safe when taken in recommended doses, but is VERY damaging to the liver when too much is taken. It can cause death from liver failure. In fact some people commit suicide this way. If you want to get high (not something I would recommend) use something else. Even if this way would work, the risk of serious health problems and death is very high."

mamiluv6969 replied: "Ok tylenol containts acedaminophin which is waht can cause liver damage over time with extensive use, taking four may give your friend a stomach ache but more than likely will have no effect at all they will most certainly not get high. Now if they are taking tyleno mixed with codene ( hydrocodone) then yes they will feel high as that is a prescribed pain medication, when you say ultra are you talking in terms of the strength of the tylenol or do you mean ultracet which is also a pain medication just not very strong. So I dont recommend you frineds taking that much tylenol being as they are looking for a buzz and all that will do is make them fell sick if anything at all. Get some wine coolars and call it a day ."

modilfaoy replied: "Tylenol will not get you high, unless it is compounded in one of the analgesics prescribed by doctors. I am not going to name them, looks likes you kids wanna get loaded. Don't do it. I could tell you stories of how drugs really f-d up my life, but I won't do it here. 4 Tylenol to get high? No. Put them back or flush them. Yucky!"

duc602 replied: "regular tylenol or tylenol 3's 3's is codeine and dont try to pull the wool over our eyes. you know exactly what youre wanting to know. tylenol 3 is a poor mans high. look forward to constipation."

I feel as if I am dreaming, what should I do? I have a cold and my throat hurts and i have a stuffy nose. Also, my right ear is not as strong as my left ear. I am taking tylenol ultra relief but i feel as if some things are not real and i am in a dream

Ganesha_lvr replied: "STOP taking the tylenol immediately. Drink a lot of gatorade over the next several hours, 1/2 cup every 30 minutes. Eat a cracker or two if you feel like it. You have a mild overdose. The Gatorade will flush it out."

v2000 replied: "How high is your fever? maybe you should go to a doctor."

huggz replied: "Are you taking the Tylenol at the right dosage? If you are then the best thing you can do is get off of the computer and get to bed."

breeze1 replied: "Does this have codeine in it, if it does that can make you hallucinate or feel like you are dreaming."

flyers_hockey_89 replied: "Id recommend heading to the hospital just in case. Tylenol can effect your liver if overdose is the case, and blood tests would determine the overall effect on your liver. If you haven't taken much Tylenol, then it is probably associated with the "head-cold" especially given that you may have an ear infection (can cause dizziness because the inner structures of the ear control balance). Just a few questions that may reveal extra info Have you ever had a reaction to Tylenol before? How much have you taken? How high is your fever?"

clcalifornia replied: "It sounds like you are sick. Your body is telling you to take it easy. See a doctor if you need to. Otherwise, crawl under the covers and get some rest. Gargel some warm salt water. Drink plenty of clear fluids."

Do I have a cold or the flu? I was fine until Monday morning, but when I woke up, I had a nasty dry cough, that by mid day rapidly developed into a fever, and severe headaches and body aches. As of today, I am so exhausted and in so much pain that I feel dizzy and can barely even sit up straight. Even Tylenol Ultra barely dulls the head pain, which radiates around my entire skull every time I cough. I also have no appetite. Are these symptoms indicative of a cold or the flu? At what point should you go the doctor?

asouthwell28 replied: "You should go ahead and go to the doctor. It will probably only get worse if you don't."

Mary l replied: "I am not a doctor but what ur saying seems to be flu rather than a cold. I suggest you go to the doctors immediately and get some antibiotic. Wish you better."

Heather replied: "flu. go now. if you didn't get a flu shot, you can get sicker. drink plenty of clear fluids."

kat_luvr2003 replied: "keep away! you have the flu!"

Nintendo Addict replied: "It sounds like the flu. When I had it, I had it for all of Febuary last year. Almost. The headache? I have a horrible one, worse if you're congested..."

I overdosed on Tylenol PMs around the time that i conceived...? I went through a very rough patch in february and overdosed on around 20 tylenol pms. That night i threw up what i believed was all of the pills that i injested. I didn't go to a doctor or anything and felt fine after. I know this was all very stupid and I don't need lectures please. What i do need is any professional or even semi-professional opinions i can get. When i found out that i was pregnant i didn't worry about the pills incident because the doctor gave me a conception date that was after the date i took the pills. But now she says that i'm 14 weeks along which brings the pills incident to right around conception. I found this out today. I have had 2 ultra-sounds including one today and they say that everything looks normal. I'm suppose to have a level 2 ultra-sound in a weeks or so because she said that my previous ultra-sound looks like the sac had too much amniotic fluid even though the one from today looked normal. I just need to know what could go wrong if anything?

dueinoctwith#3 replied: "Tylenol is more likely to just affect your liver not the babies so the baby should be ok. I would tell the Dr what happened though because they should test to make sure your liver enzyme count is ok but chances are baby will be fine"

Muse - Viktor's Mommy replied: "Most likely, since the incident would have happened so very early in the pregnancy (I'm assuming in the first two or three weeks?), it wouldn't have affected the embryo at the time. Also, since your ultrasound today looked good, I'd say that the fetus isn't going to be affected by it. So, try to not worry yourself over it. Also, if you haven't told your doctor about this incident, you should tell her. I'm assuming you have told her, though."

beccimae replied: "I think you will be fine. Don't sweat what you can't change. Make sure you tell the doctor about it and stay very very healthy both physically and mentally. Congratulations--you made it 1/3 of the way through! :)"

tylenol cold multi symptom worried? My doc just told me I can take tylenol products. And i bought Tylenol cold multi symtom- but i dont like taking meds when im pregnant but i couldnt sleep in the night at all and i get really tired and cranky (crying too makes it worse) I only took one pill insted of 2 because i was worried it would hurt or might hurt my baby im 23 weeks now. My last cold i had was last month b4 my ultra sound- but they said everything was fine- and now im having sinus cold symptoms and i took one pill of the multi. then i read up on line it might not be safe- now im worried...........

baby #1 due 5/11 replied: "my doctor said i could take tylenol and not multi sympton. they recommened dimetapp"

April Rae replied: "doctors like to be safe and it sounds like you are being safe also but one tylenol is not going to hurt your precious cargo!"

Baby Boy due 12-9-09 replied: "I wouldn't take anymore of that. I asked my dr specifically if I could get Tylenol Cold and they said No, just regular Tylenol or Extra Strength for headaches. For a cold, they recommend Sudafed."

Never Ending Headache? The last month or so I have had a headache non-stop. I don't know what it is. It's not a hurtful headache, it's more of an annoying feeling. It feels like it is behind my eyes, and it NEVER goes away. I wake up with the feeling, and I go to bed with it. In the last week I had a whole bottle of Tylenol Ultra Strength for Migraines and Headaches, and not once did it make it go away. I don't know what it is, because I don't see how it would be a headache considering i've tried tons of tylenol and I haven't gotten any relief.. I want to get an MRI done possibly because it could be something worse than a headache. I don't know how else to explain the feeling sorry.. Please help I want to feel normal again!!

mustlovedogs replied: "Go to a doctor. Could be migraines, could be a sinus infection."

Dashing Geek got a new haircut replied: "Your sinuses are behind your eyes, so it might be a sinus infection. Have you seen the doc?"

dreamofjustme replied: "I have suffer from migraines for over 20 years. I have other types of headaches too. This could be a problem with you eyes or anything. You need to get to a doctor as soon as possible. It could be a sign that something is going on. Don't mess with a headache. It could be a blood clot or anything. Please don't wait pain is a sign that something is wrong with your body. Get it check."

Pogo peeps replied: "Headaches can be symptoms of many things, so best to have your Dr. check you out. If it doesn't really hurt, then why take a whole bottle of Tylenol? I've had headaches all my life & never found Tylenol or Aspirin to work. I even tried Tylenol with codeine & heavy duty migraine pills (Fiorinal) but Advil (ibuprofen) 2 at a time is the only thing that has ever come close to getting rid of it. They never really go away but do feel better sometimes. After many years, my chiropractor noticed on an x-ray that I have calcification (like bone) encircling the nerve & vein going into my head. It's called pons posticus (has a few other names) & 15% of people have it. It can cause stroke in children, usually during exercise but causes a LOT of headaches. I really should buy shares in Advil. Good luck with yours!"

dbgyog replied: "Throw away all meds. If you are in cold country use all warm things. Pl try cold water bath and observe if in hot country, if pain increases use warm. If you have cough/cold body hot water bath will help. Massage is good thing, pl try. Add sun bath and exercise to it if possible. Pl try simple acupressure given below for immediate relief. If it fails you will have to go for Acupuncture. There is hardly any medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache, Ear ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic. Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it. Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see. Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds. The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more. Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, tension, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole. Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there. But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong. If it is acute pl search a painful point (with round tipped pen/jimmy) 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds. For forehead/eye pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below. It may disappear naturally too.
