What are the benefits of the supplement CLA Conjugated Linoleic Acid? I have a bottle and take it now and then, the capsules have 20 calories and 2 grams of fat yet the bottle says "helps reduce body fat."

Can You Take B12 & or CLA supplement while pregnant? B12 for energy & CLA for helping reduce body fat and balance blood sugar. I have heard you cannot overdose on B12 so, it's ok to take it. I wondered if you could take both or Either of these supplements while pregnant?!?

It has been reported to prevent fat from being deposited into your cells by speeding up the bodys fat metabolism. I really don't think this is true, this is one of those supplements not approved by the FDA but it also helps support lean muscle mass... which I use it for, being a vegetarian cyclist and avid runner good protein sources are hard to find. I hate tofu!! Anyway if you want to lose some fat try this workout I use to get race ready, it will help you lose the winter weight (FAT) your body adds during the cold winter months. Ngen B replied: "yes you can take all three at the same time as long as you don't have any reactions to their ingredients. Losing body fat and gaining muscle mass at the same time is very difficult.
Make sure you have a really clean diet and you should think about hitting some of the crossfit style workout routines. they are pretty difficult, but results are quick.

Has anyone tried that supplement called CLA? did it work?

A friend of mine swore by it after the birth of her twin girls (with diet and exercise of course) to help speed things up even more, so I went out and bought two big jars of it since they were BOGO (buy one get one)after my baby girl was born and I struggled to get the weight off after a year. I can't say for certain if they work on their own considering I am eating healthy (Weight Watchers) and exercise a minimum of three days a week (Golds Gym). I am a strong believer that there is no "magic pill" or "quick fix" out there. And trust me, I have tried them all- fad diets and diet pills, and I have only seen results by eating right and exercising COMBINED. I started Weight Watchers in November of 2007 (joined gym at same times too) and as of today have loss a total of 15 lbs. It probably would be greater if I haven't cheated as much as I have over that length of time!!! Do keep in mind that a healthy weight loss should be about 2-5 lbs (depending on your starting weight; the heavier the person, the more pounds they can safely lose in a weeks time). I do suggest you look into Weight Watchers if you have a strong desire to lose weight and only use CLA for the healthy benefits safflower oil (whats basically in CLA) for the fatty acids it provides. For those not familar with CLA, you can also search for it under "Tonalin". Hope that helps some!"
