Has anybody experienced weight loss by doing kapalbhati pranayam? Has anybody experienced weight loss by doing kapalbhati pranayam? Please answer based on your personal experience. How many days of doing this pranayam does it take to lose a kg of weight, and how many minutes per day should it be done to lose 1 kg of weight? thanks.

vish replied: "Yes I have lost by doing kapalbhati.Amount mainly depends on person to person and metabolism but it is very fast compared to other methods.You can lose a kg even just two days if u do 15 min of it twice a day. Don't do it continuously, have one minute break every 5 min(300*3 times-total 900times).Include one or two other pranayams,40min brisk walk and drink lot of water to feel the difference.Follow this for a month and you will surely lose minimum of 3-4 kgs. MK replied: "How to Practice:- It Should be practiced empty stomach or 2-3 hours after meal. one should sit in padmasana, sukhasana or siddhasna and those who are unable to sit they can perform it on chair, keeping the spine straight and body firm. Precaution : heart patients and high BP patients and weak people should do it slowly.Pregnant women should not do this pranayama. How to do : exert air forcefully out. Stomach will go in automatically. dominant inhalation through nostrils which results contraction of abdominal muscles and proper aeration to blood circulation. So in Kapalbhati more attention is to be given on act of forceful exhalation while the inhalation is passive, Silent and short, during abdominal contraction force is applied to the Manipura, Swadhisthan and muladhar chakra. Duration : Initially Starts with 30 times or for 1 minute and increase it upto 5 mins mininimum, maximum upto 10 minutes.Healthy person can practice it 10-15 minutes regularly. Patients with obesity, Vitiligo, leukaemias, breast carcinoma, Fallopian tube blockage, hepatitis etc. should practice it 20 minutes to half hour twice daily."

Martin Coleman replied: "It depends on person to person and metabolism but it is not the fastest way to lose weight compared to other methods! if you really want to lose wight and fat then you should remember and do this: EVERYDAY RUN (WALK) + L-Carnitine + TAKE LESS CALORIES + LIPO-6 = 100% SUCCESS 1) if you dint have then buy scales!!! that is the first thing to do!! 2) run every 2 days for at least ~30 minutes or/and walk every day at least 5 km! 3) L-Carnitine!!! hi this is for weight loss? my height is 5'3" n weight is 73 kgs. i want to reduce 15 kgs in 3 months my whole day diet is breakfast one cup of sprouted moong daal n one glass of skimed milk.it is around 10 am n lunch time is 1.30 pm 2 cup of moong daal one vegitable with minimum oil n 2 chapatis.....around 5 pm i m taking one apple and had lunch at 8 pm with one vegetable n 2 chapatis n during all day i m taking wather so it is all about 14-15 glass per day ...n doing kapalbhati n anulom vilom for 15 mins....but still no improvements

M V replied: "To lose weight, you need to exercise and lift weights. Eating anything after about 7 pm is not good since you arent burning any calories after that presumably. Eat lots of protein for breakfast/lunch, and eat very little for your last meal."

can i eat only fruits & vegs for weight loss. pranayam can help me? I want to go on diet for 3 months in which i have to take only fruits & veges& milk.I also heard that Ramdevbaba told that if u too much fat than u have to eat only fruits & veges & skim milk & v have to do more kapal bhati pranayam.i want to know can i do 2hr/day kapalbhati pranayam1 hr in the morning & 1 hr in the evening.If any body know please advice me what to do?I want to lose 35 kg in 5 months.

Noobster replied: "U Can consult a Personal trainer,Ne1 who is good @ Yoga,Exercises.They are the right person to help u..Eating Fruits & veggies wont help.losing 35 Kg is in 5 months is rare u have to slog for it..Its just like growing 1 foot in 1 year..which is 1 is 1000000000000 cases..Go about slowly u can achieve it."

rajneesh v replied: "1. Patience and perseverence is the key. Try what you decide on and continue with it for good results. 2. Yes fruit diet is very good, it doesn't have any junk thing, so fully relaible and 100 % good for sure for you in every aspect. 3. Make sure the fruits you choose, to eat, gives you all necessary vitamin & protiens. The minimum of all is required by body at any time and you should not miss any. I advise consult doctor on this or take advise on taking Multivitamins. 4. Gren vegetables are good and should not be missed in any way. 5. Results may not be sudden and should continue on what you decide and yes after some time you will yourself feel it. 6. You can also try jogging and all with that and face to face advise from some physician would be an added advantage for quick and correct results."

spirit replied: "You can eat whatever baba ramdev suggests . Do kapalbhati for about 15 minutes in morning and 15 minutes in the evening not more than that. Do anulomvilom also. to get more benefit do all 7 pranayams. For more knowledge, watch astha channel regularly. Do pranayams with empty stomach."

Raj replied: "apart ffrom asanas & diet, u can go for brisk walk and aerobics. 10-15 mins of brisk walk can be very good for you. if you want to loose weight their is a yogic kriya called "kayakalp", but you need a trainer for this. u can join baba ramdev camps for best results. last but not the least eat what u can burn, even on diet ppl do overeat. reduce ur chunk day by day not suddenly. have 4 small meals in a day, so that u don't feel tired & hungry. use a small plate for eating, small serving spoon. it works. drink water 1/2 hr befor your meals."

VIJAY replied: "Its a nice idea to loose weight, if you have access of it. The first thing I would suggest about Pranayam is, first learn it from an expert, then only do it. Regarding the eating habit, I would suggest, eat as much you like but remember to burn as many calories as you eat to keep you as you are. If you want to reduce your weight, better burn more calories than what you take. So here comes your food choice. What you eat should be giving you less calories and yet should not make you weak. That's why eat fruits and vegetables, preferably raw or half boiled. If it doesn't taste good. Cook it but take care of adding less spices and oil into it."

koki replied: "eating only fruits and vegetables wont provide enough proteins which can lead to various metabolic disorders . sensible eating is a better choice. pranayam is just a type of exercise it will help but dont expect miracles"
