Murad acne complex kit vs Proactiv & Neutrogena acne kit? Please help somebody i dont know which one to get, I have like a million blackheads on my nose and theyve been there for years, and i want them gone for good!I also have a few pimples here and there but blackheads are my major problem, and they make my skin so oily. Which kit is best??
ASH replied: "For me, Pro active did nothing for me, and i was on it for about two or three years. It doesn't mean that it wouldn't work for you though, because everyone's skin acts differently. If you have to chose one, you might want to try the neutrogena kit. The only problem I found with that product was that it dried out my skin. So if it does that for you, then you might need a good lotion to help keep moisture in your skin."
cheerlova replied: "do not get murad... my brother just got it and after four days... his face is gross... its not just pimples they look like gross raw blisters... check if the nuetrogena has benzoyl peroxide... if it doesn't then use it... if it does find something else... don't use proactiv its crap... try and get something specifically for blackheads"
Jose S replied: "The combination of Tea Tree Oil soap and the Clindamycin cream is the best for Acne and pimple. These work wonders. Maybe it will work on you too.
Try searching it through Google 'shopaholic's bargains'"
wendi k replied: "Try the "unblemish" regimen - it definitely works. I see people all the time with acne and want to tell them about this skin care line I rep, but usually don't want to go up to them directly for fear of embarrassment (on both parts)...but I KNOW it works! I've seen results from family and friends.
give it a try...you will not be disappointed and if it doesn't work there is a money back guarantee - but I know you won't need to send it back. It's made by the same two dermatologists that started Proactiv...
When using the entire regimen, you will receive 5% benzoyl peroxide. 2.5% is the maximum allowed in over-the-counter products.
Good luck!"
Val M replied: "hey
i have used murad i didnt see much difference in my skin... but it did not overdry my skin which is always a plus... i never used pro-activ and i find it a little bit 2 expensive. my best friends sister used it and it worked at first but after a while she still continued to break out n idk wat she uses now
right now im using clinique's acne kit but unless u have very oily skin.. i find it wayyy to drying (which sux cuz i absolutly love clinique) also the foam wash... yea while its easy 2 use n comes off easily.. it doesnt have a deep clean...
ok so ur not even looking into clinique... (but hey if sum1 mentions about clinique.. u already have an answer about that) im just waiting for the bottles 2 finish up n then i am going to use neutrogena's acne kit.. i'll tell u how it is after i start using it :D
ok so ur probably like ok y did this girl answer... shes not helping!
well.....
i also have the same problem with blackheads... and i bought the "Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub" which i am using now i LOVE IT! it's probably the only thing that really got deep into my pores n cleaned them well... i noticed right away that i had a deeper clean.. when i zoomed into the mirror 2 look at my skin closer... there were less! n now my forehead, my nose, and cheeks r clearing up! its also a gentle scrub so it gets rid of dead skin and and because its gentle u can use it everyday or even twice a day but its not so gentle where it doesnt get the job done
there are also conditioning beads that softens ur skin... but doesnt leave ur skin oily at all!
trust me.. give this a shot...
sorry i dont know much about the neutrogena acne kit yet but if blackheads r the problem.. i think u need 2 try something that targets blackheads and not just the pimples
-edit-
some one b4 mentioned about the benzol peroxide in the kits..
i have the bottles with me :P
(plus im really bored n i like doin stuff like this)
NEUTROGENA
-the skin polishing acne cleanser: salicylic acid 0.5% + microfine beads
-oil-free spf 15 lotion (day): SPF 15 -proprietary botanical comples (helps calms skin and protect it from the sun)
-the acne control lotion (night):
benzoyl peroxide 2.5%
the blackhead eliminating daily scrub has 2% salicylic acid
CLINIQUE
cleansing foam: salicylic acid 2%
clarifying lotion: salicylic acid 1.5% (this is more like a toner btw)
clearing moisturizer: benzoyl peroxide 2.5%
MURAD
cleanser: salicylic acid 1.5%
exfoliating acne treatment gel: salicylic acid 1%
acne spot treatment: sulfur 3%
skin perfecting lotion: nothing...
(no wonder y this one didnt work well for me.. its pretty weak)
PROACTIV
renewing cleanser: benzoyl peroxide 2.5%
Toner: nothing
repairing lotion: benzoyl peroxide 2.5%
i also have a lil secret about pimples... use neosporin or other antibiotic creams that u use on cuts to heal faster... they kill the germs in the pimple and help make it do down faster plus... it heals ur cuts if u popped any... but only use it at night.. n wash it off in the morning otherwise ull have a shine on parts of ur face >.<"
Does Murad Acne Complex work to get rid of acne? Is it really a 100% guarantee or should i use Neutrogena SkinID?
Nikki T replied: "No it didnt work for me. I've had acne for 15 yrs, only thing that works for me is Avon clearskin professional. its way cheaper than murad"
Jill replied: "I've never used it. But you can ask friends or people you know what they thought about it. I'd say the best products are definitely Neutrogena, or Clearasil."
Laura replied: "I've been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it's at.
I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.
I'm 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.
Literally the best acne face wash I've ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It's unique cause of it's herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem.com at the time which was helpful.
You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn't work it will still save you butt on the return policy.
Well good luck and best wishes."
I have extremely severe acne + acne scars that are deep and pitted, can you help me? I have had acne for years now and tried everything! (proactiv, clean & clear, neutrogena, acne complex, acne free, just to name a few) I aslo have been to the dermatologist and been put on pills. Well none of this has worked. My acne isn't classified as severe by the derm. but it is in my opinion. I have oily skin but when I use products such as proactiv, my skin peels like crazy. I squeezed and popped some of my pimples (I know, bad idea) and now am left with these hideous, horrifyingly ugly scars which look more like scabs!!!I have three on my cheeks, one on my upper forehead, and one on my chin. I can not even begin to tell you how embarressing these are and makeup does not a thing. I'm sorry this is long but I am in such despair oh and I forgot to mention I have used neosporin for the scar/scabs but no success so far. I am begging you to help me with this. Please tell me first how to get rid of these awful scars and also what to do with the acne because i still get breakouts?!?
two answers is pathetic! I am looking into Erbium laser but think it may be too expensive and also am skeptical about putting potato peels on my face. Any other ideas??
derrick r replied: "Look up the Erbium Laser therapy........I had three treatments and it got rid of lots of scarring I had. Not risky, a little painful.......but worth it.
Derrick"
tomorjerry replied: "Directly rub potato slices all over the face and wash after 30 minutes this when done regularly , helps to get rid of acne, blemishes and pimple scar. Check out for more useful info."
HealthGuard replied: "Having acne problem accompanied by peeling is such irritating and embarrassing to think about. To get rid of acne breakouts, you may get helpful advices and treatment options that suit you at. This is where I got the remedy for my long been "BIG" acne problem before."
min min replied: "I have pop out 40 pimples at one time before.. are these are around my face. I read somewhere you need sulfur to cure your pimples and scar. So the nearest to getting a safe sulfur based cream was.. a volcano mud mask.
I dot my growing pimples plus healing pimples with them so my face is not overdried. The growing pimple will erupt faster and continuous dotting will make it heal faster
You may want to try this"
Does murads acne complex work? i'm almost 15 and i have tried the kind of acne stuff you get at the store like neutrogena, clean and clear, biore, and olay and none of that worked. my acne isnt bad but it seems to never be clear. my skin is also sensitive to benzoyl peroxide and i heard that murad doesnt have that so i might get it. opinions please?
MiiSS B3CK3Y C33 replied: "ive had problems with spots but nothing seems to help,
ive been going on the sunbeds which drys up your skin,
all my spots have gone now.
if your not aloud on the sunbed, see your doctor or try a skin, hair and nail vitamin, which also help.
facial scrubs are really useful too.
hope ive helped.

babyfat_fat replied: "i used proactive solutions for a bit...i really didn't like anything in the kit but the mask...lol..i think it works better thought if you leave it on over night...but really the best thing ive used and still using is...monistat 7 (old school method 7 day box) and ambe soap (face wash) for my acne...trust me...you'll see unbelievable results the next morning...btw you can get all that at walmart...the soap...look in the black section...lol..and both these...use em for how ever long you need too...
day
1. wash ur face with ambe soap
2.apply monosate 7...dab on forehead...cheeks...chin..rub in...do not wash...
night
1. repeat step 1 and 2 (of above)..just put it on a little heaver than you would in the day
2. sleep in it
3. repeat
ps...if you want to use the proactive mask...do it only once a wee...its hella harch on ur skin to use more than that...
pps...you can also use Monostat Chafing Relief Powder-Gel as a makeup primer (foundation base)!!!"
Murad acne complex VS proactiv? well ive been using proactiv for like a month and a half now and its really not working... ifi anything worse... im thinking on trying the murad acne complex . has anyone tried both before? and has anyone found that using just a simple like neutrogena antibacterial wash and a simple lotion was better then both of them?? and if neither of those three what has been a success for you?
pepski1617 replied: "Yes, I've used both. Proactive worked for about a year and then it just stopped. Murad works way better for me. Proactive uses Benzoyle Peroxide as their main ingredient as there main ingredient. I mix things like Neutrogena's scrubs with my routine or a topical gel from Acne Free for spot treatments but for the cleansing ritual I stick with Murad. I tried sooo many things at the drugstore that didn't work and I got tired of wasting my money."
Bada$$ replied: "99% of reviews on websites are negative towards Murad's Acne Kit. I just tried Murad and it was as awful as all those people who posted reviews stated. Proactiv is better. Give the Proactiv more time. If Benzoyl Peroxide is not working for you, try Accutane. Really, if Benzoyl Peroxide is not effective, something is wrong..."
jim b replied: "Sleep on a They naturally clean your face while you sleep. Think about it. Have you ever try drying of with a pillow case? It doesn't work, it smears the water. Your pillow case rubes the oils in your skin in to your face, clogging your pours. Plush pillow cases puts more oxygen on your face.(Oxy10, Oxyclean) Plus it's cheaper. Sweet"
Fastest way to remove blemishes and pimples? I have acne all over my face. Its not big individual pimples, its like small-all over the face pimples. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING! I MEAN EVERYTHING. I have tried proactive, murad acne complex, neutrogena, cetaphill, noxima...EVERYTHING! Any secrets or tricks that remove All of my acne in 2 months or less? Remember-I HAVE TRIED IT ALL! But maybe theres something i don't know about...tell me!
dorkiii replied: "try squezzing lemon and use a cloth to apply it in your face, it might get a little stighy but its worth a shot, it works wonder . it works no later than 1 day . then after that use honey as a moisturizer and rinse it off and taa daa u have a clear face.

soccerstar9 replied: "try toothpaste...it drys them out and then use oxy to finish it off"
Camille replied: "if it is really bad, then acutane...
but if its just a blemish here or there, then creams with salicylic acid. or, i ah-dore mario bredusco drying lotion...on amazon."
sweetzie33 replied: "Try purpose or Aveeno bar soaps. Make sure to get the one that is right for your skint type like dry, combination, or oily."
S R replied: "You can try this. Calamine lotion has the same drying effect like toothpaste so you can apply it overnight and wash the next day. More such solutions at"
Lauren replied: "The tricky part about acne is that the problem can actually become worse if you overmedicate. That's because acne medication can overdry the skin, causing a boost in your skin's Sebum (oil) production. This results in...you guessed it - more acne.
So what's the long term solution? Find gentler solutions or even natural acne cures that won't shock your body into more breakouts. Here's what I recommend:
- Use a glycerin based facewash. Glycerin is gentler and will balance the ph levels in your skin.
- For body acne, try using an antibacterial soap to slowly dry out the skin. If your skin gets too dry, switch to a moisterizing soap like Dove to counterbalance the effect.
- Wash your face only 2 times a day max and gently pat dry with a towel.
- Use a gentle face moisterizer if the glycerin based face wash drys you out too much.
- Eat almonds, fiber, drink lots of water and avoid excess sugar intake.
- If acne medication isn't working or causing new breakouts, try applying egg whites to the pimples at night before bed. This natural remedy works great.
- One of my favorite natural skin conditioners is wearing an "oatmeal mask". The oatmeal with smooth your skin while simultaneously absorb toxins and oils from your pores.
- Lemon juice also dries up pimples and kills any bacteria in the infection.

Best of Luck!"
Acne Situation... help, please? Hi :) Uh, I've had acne for about three years now. I have it mainly on my forehead, and I get an occasional breakout on my cheeks. I have been desperately searching for a way to get rid of it. I tried ProActiv... it worked at first, but than I ran out and the acne came back immediately. I'm tired of caking on my make-up to hide it... I've also tried the Clearasil products. I've tried the Neutrogena Acne Face Wash, also. I've been wanting to try the Neutrogena Skin I.D or the Murad Acne Complex, but our family can't afford it.
I really want a natural, non-expensive alternative. I HAVE tried toothpaste before... it works by reducing the size of the pimple, but it doesn't take away the redness. I've been also looking into using Accutane, but the side effects seem way too risky. I've heard of Witch's Hazel, I think it's called... but I don't know where to buy it.
Sorry this is long :]
But, please! I am about to start school in 3 weeks, and I want to be as clear as possible... thank you :)
Travon replied: "AcneFree! its amazing and only about 30-40 dollars. Its the only product that actualy works for me. AND FAST! proactive took like 2 weeks before i could see results but AcneFree was 1 day!!!!
G' Luck!"
Chiodoslove99 replied: "Witch hazel you can buy at any store
in the band aid aisle or wherever they keep
medical supplies
and murad is good but out of everything
clinque helped me
it's pretty pricey at $70 for just
the soap, lotion and the alchohol thing
but it works more effectively and alot faster"
ADuB replied: "As far as a natural solution goes i used tea tree oil i got from the body shop and u just take a drop on a q-tip and tab it on and it actually works very well however smells pretty intense so use it before bed. I've done a lot of lazer treatments since my mom works at the place and i got them for free. They work really well too but are hella expensive and you have to keep going in for quite awhile. Also don't cake on make up haha i'd rather see someone with acne then too much make-up. I don't know your age but you might just be going through puberty and will just have to deal with it i have had to for almost 3 years! But it will go away use the tea tree oil, grab some more proactive and pop those F$c#@rs!"
Jade replied: "The bottom line is that it's hormones doing it and you can't stop it. You can minimize it by washing often, using the benzoyl peroxide products and not using a lot of makeup to cover it. The makeup will make it worse. Only time will make it go away completely.
Accutane is a last resort and is only used for very severe disfiguring acne. And, it only from a doctor."
lady_chook replied: "Steaming hot face washer treatment.
Put quite hot tap water onto a face washer and hold over your face for 30 seconds.
Drink more water. Eat less junk food and more fruit and veges (they are good for the skin)."

Honey Paste-Another easy and effective homemade acne treatment is to make a paste of honey with cinnamon and nutmeg. All you need is about one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and about half of it nutmeg powder. Add some honey to make enough paste to cover the inflammed area completely. Just lie down as honey may dribble down. Wait for 10 to 15 minutes and wash with luke warm water.
Orange peel-Homemade Acne Treatment using Orange peel has been found very effective. Pound the orange peel with water on a piece of stone and apply to acne affected areas.
Basil tea-Basil tea like neem is effective in killing bacteria. Drinking it twice a day can do wonders to the skin.
Coconut Oil-Coconut oil is a cheap and easily available acne solution. Regular use of coconut oil over a period of time helps to clear your skin.
Lemon Juice-A simple remedy at home for acne: Apply lemon juice regularly to reduce pimples and acne. This has proven beneficial results.
Well, these are the remedies that work gentle on your skin while getting rid of acne.Hope this helps and great skin wishes"

Does Murad Acne Complex work? I've used Proactive, Clean N Clear, Neutrogena, Mary Kay, and many other products that haven't worked. I'd like to know if Murad really clears the skin. I don't really want to start any pills. DOES THIS PRODUCT WORK? What results did you get? Honestly.
fasterthansatan515 replied: "i know someone who had really bad acne for a long time and used that murad kit thing that our friend bought at sephora, it was like $60. after maybe couple of months his skin was noticeably clearer and smoother. i don't know if his face completely healed because i just didn't see him again cause he moved."
wasabii barbii replied: "Yeah, well for me it does. Honestly, my dermatologist recommended it to me. I really think it depends on what type of skin you have, my brother started using it but no dramatic results. Pills? Yeah they work, my friend is on i think it's day 33 or some pill like that, she's been using it for about 8 months now, real difference. The suck thing is, she got all the side effects, so i don't really recommend them. Try the Murad range, it works for me. :)"
Does Nuetrogena Oil Free Acne Wash Work? I have used so many products Im only 15 I got my acne last year as a 14 year old Im already turning 16 so its already going to be 2 years. I tried Nuetrogena Oil Free Acne Wash before and it really dried my skin but it was taking my acne off real well! I didnt know I had to use a moisterizer. Well I used it again for 3 days because I found the bottle in my bathroom but then my mom bought me Murad Acne Complex I bearly saw results in a month. So Im using Neutrogena Oil Free ACne wash again. Has anyone used this product before? Does it work?
DEE replied: "Not for me. It worked really well at drying out my skin but not the acne."
fisher4_4 replied: "No. Try Proactive. It worked for me."
charmedwitch94 replied: "I love this product, i am 12 yrs old, and i have been using it for almost six months now, and while i sadly slack off, because i live in a contained space, a motorhome, i cant use it all the time. but when i do, it cleans up so well. here's what you need to do, get a non oil free acne wash, and this one and alternate, so in the mornings use the oil free nd before you go to bed use the one with oil to regulate the oil control in your face, and the different brands will take care of different things and acne gets a double wammy and it goes away like that."
Diggs replied: "I like the neutrogena. I use it a couple times a week to control my oily skin. I also use on occasion a exfoliator(from bath & bodyworks) to remove any dry/dead skin."
hairphysicians replied: "Yes! It is a great acne treatment. I truly understand your frustration with products that can leave the skin dry!! What I recommend for you is to use the Nuetrogena oil Free Acne wash in the morning when you wake up, then follow that with a VERY LIGHT moisturizer. At night before you go to bed you should also wash your face with the wash, but you should then apply Vitamin E (can purchase at your local beauty supply) to your face and allow it to soak into your skin as you sleep. Make sure you purchase Vitamin E 200 i.u., not 400 i.u. (400 is to thick and will clog your pores, 200 is perfect in preventing the dryness the wash causes and will NOT clog pores)!!
Finally, make sure you are consuming plenty of water in your diet! A combo of all of these things will definately improve your condition. Good Luck!! :)"
brandi2angels replied: "I have a teenage son who has had terrible acne for a while now we have found that Proactiv works the very best. We buy it at our local mall because he seems to run out of soap before anything else. You have to use it just as it says but it is a great product. Just after 2 days we could tell a very big difference. Now after a couple of months it is gone but he has to continue using it or it starts to come back."
.... replied: "Works well for me, but yah it drys my skin out alot."
ZoriB replied: "I used it and it worked, but it was way too drying for me."
AP replied: "Everyones faces are different, but I really like it. Definately moisturize though, but if moisturizer is making certain parts of your skin too oily, only moisturize the parts that the Neutrogena dries out. If that doesn't help, try something for dry or sensitive skin. Hope you find a solution :)"
Blindman replied: "No. Use Dove soap for sensitive skin."
Ryan replied: "I would recommend homemade remedies since they are natural and they work

Terrible acne HELP ME PLEASE!! ? Okay, the title says pretty much everything.
But i cannot get rid of it!
I've tried everything.
I used proactive for almost two years and it worked for about the first month or two.. then it was back to where i started.
I've tried Murad acne complex.
The neutrogena stuff.
Cetophyl.
And clean N clear.
I'm serisouly desperate for anything.
I can't stand it anymore it's basically ruining my life.
I don't even like going to school 'cause i'm embarassed.
I'll sit there with my mom and actually cry about it.
But theres nothing her or myself can do about it..
Help me please!
Thank-you all SO much!
I'm scheduled to see a dermatologist this weekend.
And i'm hoping they'll do something about this mess.
And thank-you to the specific person who mentioned not letting the person in the mirror become me.
That really made me feel better.
And like, it really shouldn't matter (:
Thank-you

Grandma of 2 replied: "Go to a dermatologist. These doctors have access to many more things than what can be bought over the counter. My son had severe acne and we got a combination of about 3 different things to use and within a month his skin started to clear so much it seemed like a miracle. There were times that we thought his face was nothing more than a big red pimply mess, but the medicine really, really worked. My brother did this for his son to and his face was also a mess. You are probably at the point where you need medical intervention and no OTC medication will be strong enough to help you."

talk to your docter but for the time being, go to school with confidence. dont let the person in the mirror become you, let yourself be yourself"
BritBrat replied: "so sorry to hear that... it'll be ok tho!!!
theres no product anyone can recmmend.. everyones skin and condition is different
the smartest thing to do would be to go to your doctor or see a dematologist!!
and it's about sticking with your routines... regular non scented soap ive heard...
washing your pillow cases.. . if your hair is always touching your skin (becuz ur hair has oils in it)
CELL PHONES!!!... u hold them on your cheek and then put it away and the next time you do the same thing putting all those oils back on your skin... keep ur cell phone clean !!!
i hope this helped a lil bit
good luck"
auntesusub replied: "go to the dermatologist...they can help and in the long run it will be alot cheaper than all of the over the counter stuff you have tried. Good luck."
