nurseTINA replied: "You need to be on it a few months before your body really gets used to it. Or, you may be that small percentage that it doesn';t work well with. Everyone has different levels of hormones therefore requires different dosages, birth control brands, etc. If it's not right for you, find one that is."
snowball666 replied: "it is different for others give it another still no change go back to Dr"
Yasmin users.. Does yasmin give you shorter, lighter periods right away? I just started using Yasmin and next week I am suppose to get my period. I was just wondering if it gives you shorter lighter periods right away or does it take a few months? Also..am I going to get my period the first day I take the inert pillls or the second day? I am new to taking birth control pills..
Danni replied: "OMG, yasmin is the best thing ever invented for a womans body. You get lighter periods right away and when I get mine I don't even cramp or anything and my periods use to be so bad that I would have to stay home because I couldn't get out of bed. Usually you'll start on your 2nd or 3rd day of taking the white pills."
Ive been takein the birth control yasmin for a month i wana kno if your periods should b lighter than usual? Ive been takein the birth control yasmin for a month i wana kno if your periods should b lighter than usual? this is the 1st month ive taken it and im on my 5th white pill and i got my period it was very light is this normal?
LaUrEN c replied: "I was on yasmin for five years, and it worked well for me. my gynocologist prescribed me it because my periods were extremely heavy.
Yasmin does lighten your period, as do all birth control pills. You may also notice your periods get a couple days shorter. Mine were only about four days long on yasmin! i loved it, and i want to get on it again for regularity"
lighter/shorter period on yasmin? I've been on Yasmin since March of this year. Normally, I missed a few pills every month, so my periods could be long or short (i never knew). This month was the first month that I actually took my pill every day and did it at every time.
I was just wondering: because it's the first time i took my pill every day, will my period be lighter and shorter?
bRING.mE.tHE.hORIZON replied: "idk cuz im not on it but it says so on the commercials so who knows haha
answer mine please
"
xxbabiesue123xx replied: "I've been on Yasmin since July this year and never missed a pill and my periods are much lighter. I use to have very heavy, long & painful periods but their much lighter now. I guess it depends on the person and some people need longer time for it to start having an effect."
Y are my periods lighter on Ocella birth control? I was on Yasmin for 6 months with no problems. Then got switched to generic Ocella. Had the following symptoms.
-Light periods, 1/4 of my previous flow, can't even fill 1 pad in 24 hours
-Dark colored blood, dark brown, sometimes almost black during my periods now
I don't have insurance at my job YET, so it'll be a couple of weeks before I can see a doctor.
Is Ocella causing these symptoms? What do these symptoms mean?
ruggles08 replied: "Those two medications are the SAME and contain the same active ingredients. Maybe it took 7 months for your periods to get lighter. I certainly wouldn't complain about that! Call a pharmacist and ask his/her opinion, it won't cost you anything. You could even call a few pharmacies to ask. I am starting Ocella tomorrow and will be ecstatic if those symptoms happen for me :)"
How long will it take for me to experience positive effects of the Yasmin birth control pill? I have been taking Yasmin for 3 1/2 weeks now and I have not experienced any of the positive side effects i.e. less water retention, clear skin, shorter, lighter periods etc. I started my period 2 days ago and had all of the pms symptoms and my flow is heavy like always. I was very discouraged because my doctor told me my period would be lighter and more pleasant. Have I just not given it enough time...or is this pill not for me?
angelfire2 replied: "It usually takes about three months for your body to adjust to the pill, also takes that long to adjust to a new kind of pill if you switch. I would wait at least three months, and if you don't have any improvement, talk to your doctor about trying a different pill. It can be frustrating, I've been thru 6 0r 7 different brands over the last 15 years!! Hang in there, the pill really does help with cramps, heavy flow, and other pms symptoms. Good luck!"
yasmin and periods? So i've been on the pill for like a month and i bleed the entire month, so will i be experiencing lighter or no periods when i expect my next period or will it be like it was nomally in the past? And when i start the white pills is that when i should expect my next period???
A.A.K replied: "LISTEN STOP TAKING MEDICATION DURING YA PERIOD IT MAKES YOU BLEED EVEN MORE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU DRINK LOTS OF LIQUID"
Will2 Smells2 replied: "Usually it will come on the white pill section- although sometimes it comes earlier/later by two or 3 pills.
My wife & my daughter are on the pill too."
♥Madison♥ replied: "Yes you should expect your pills at that time, but it also depends on how log you´ve taking the pill, you have to give 3 months at least to the pill, for your body to get used to the new charge of hormones you´re giving to it.
You may have strange bleeding or skip periods as your body gets used to, and every body is different so you wouldn´t know for sure how your bdy will react.
Good luck! ;D"
jennashea replied: "white pills = period time...
you should not bleed while on the other pills... but usally when you just start them, you body has to get use tot he pills. It might take like up to 4 months to get use to them."
I was just given Ocella in place of Yasmin. What if I have breakthru bleeding at end of week 1 pills? I've been taking Yasmin for 4 years and take the pill within 30 minute windows, no new lifestyle changes elsewhere... Today is the third day I've had bleeding like I would for a lighter-pill-period...
I guess it's strange to have to adjust to a pill since it's supposedly the same level of hormones as a generic form of Yasmin... I don't get it.
varsitycheer123 replied: "your body may just need to adjust to the new pill. I just went through the exact same change from Yasmin to ocella. If it happens again the pill might not be the right hormone levels for your body and I would call the doctor to change to something else."
is this normal for yasmin birth control? i started taking the pill just a month ago i started the sunday right after my period and ive taken every pill so far, but i just started the white pills sunday and i havent gotten my period yet? is it normal for the pill to make it late or messed up in the beginning? and also does it make your periods lighter than normal?
d replied: "yes>>>"
you know it's true replied: "no idea but my bc made me get mine early and for WAY longer the first month. and then the second month i didn't even get it.
i'm hella confused? haha. thought i'd share :]"
Lemmiwinks replied: "Yes this is normal... you'll get it soon....
And again, yes, the pill makes your period lighter."
Lex replied: "It depends on the person. Personally, it takes three days (just about every single time) from the last time I take the active pill until my period starts. I haven't taken yasmin for a while, but I think it was the same way for me then. On the other hand, I have a friend who starts the very first day of the placebo pills."
mis b replied: "Yes and yes. Just because you aren't taking the pills with the hormones in them doesn't mean that you are going to start your cycle immediately. It takes a few days for the hormones to get out of your system. This can take anywhere from 2-5 days. Even if you haven't started your cycle by the time that you are supposed to start your new pills continue to take your pills as directed. If you go a few months without a cycle then call your doctor and talk to the doc or a nurse for guidance. They may suggest that you stop taking the pills for a month to see what happens. Your body should try to go back to normal with a normal cycle.
One of the side effects of any birth control is lighter to nonexistent cycles. It happens in some women."
Quitting yasmin...where is my period? I have been on yasmin since November '06 and never had any problems. Recently I decided to go off of it for a few months because I had to take antibiotics and it made me sick to take them together. I had my last period on November 25th. Then 2 weeks later, I got a darker lighter period. I stopped taking the birth control pills after my first period, so I figured the 2nd one would be from the pills leaving my system, my normal cycle is 35 days. So if you calculate 35 days from my last period, I'm 5 days late. My bf and I had sex over my first period without a condom, and then we had sex on the 10th of this month with one but when I saw it, it looked empty but he said it was ok. I've never been late in my life...ever. I don't feel pregnant, but until you are who really knows how that feels? Anyone else ever had this problem?
Lana L replied: "I fell pregnant a couple of months after i stopped taking yasmin but I was trying and I do remember there being no regularity once i stopped, Go get a test, first signs for me have been sore breasts."
